In October, AEC participated in three Head Start Parent Fairs in Jefferson, Grainer and Hamblen counties. These are important events that provide great resources from organizations regarding health, education and much more. We enjoyed the opportunity to meet and talk with members from all over our service area about energy efficiency and give out home energy efficiency kits. We are grateful to Douglas Cherokee Economic Authority for creating these spaces to meet our community’s needs.

We are currently experiencing a few outages across our service area. We have dispatched crews to locate the cause and get power restored. Updates will follow if necessary.

Today, November 2, and Tuesday, November 3, the member entrance doors on the east side of the AEC office will be closed for maintenance work. Temporary signage will direct members on how to enter the building. The drive-thru will remain open, and members entering from Hill Drive can come around the building to the south entrance. From there, members can enter the building, go down the lobby hallway, and access the Member Support and Accounts Receivable departments. These doors will be unlocked from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm both days. Parking spots will be available on the south side of the building, facing the highway, for members to use.

Our entrances will be open as normal on Wednesday, November 4. Thank you for your patience as we continue to make improvements to our office.

This week, AEC and Trilight were hosted by the Cooperative Management and Housing class at Carson-Newman University. The students prepared and shared lunch with us, and we had the opportunity to talk with them about energy efficiency and what it means to be a cooperative member. We had a great time and enjoyed the chance to continue to Empower Education for our students!

Don't forget, today is our No Tricks, Just Treats kids event at the AEC office in New Market! Come by from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm to enjoy the festivities. We will have games, pumpkins and, of course, treats! We look forward to seeing you there as we wrap up our month of celebrating our members. Happy National Co-op Month!

This was our last trivia of the month celebrating National Co-op Month, so thank you to everyone who participated and congratulations to our winners! We will be rounding out the month with our last event this Thursday, October 29, with our "No Tricks, Just Treats" kids event at our office in New Market from 2-5. There will be a lot of fun games and treats for all who come out. We hope to see you there!

We had a great day yesterday with our Monster Mash event at the AEC office! There were a lot of members that stopped by to enjoy refreshments and pick up an energy efficiency kit. Thank you to everyone who came.

We will be continuing our National Co-op Month celebration next week with another Trivia Tuesday on October 27 for a chance to win a home improvement gift card, so check back in at 9:00 am on Tuesday to see the final question. Then, we will be hosting a "No Tricks, Just Treats" kids event in our office on Thursday, October 29 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Families, bring your kids for games, candy, and fun!
