We are removing illegal and unregistered scooters from our neighborhood streets. Members of my office and the NYPD recently confiscated 28 scooters.
During the operation one person was arrested for driving with a suspended license, 11 moving summonses were issued and 27 parking tickets were written. Since the start of this initiative, we have seized more than 1,400 scooters.

We recently seized more than 1,000 pounds of unregulated, illicit cannabis and to***co products - valued at $10 million - from an unlicensed storefront in Bayside.
Illegal cannabis storefronts continue to threaten the safety of our communities. I commend the members of my office, NYPD, New York City Department of Finance and NYC Sheriff's Office for their work in shutting down these illegal operations. https://bit.ly/4dCcx7A

Gun buyback initiatives remain an important strategy in our efforts to reduce gun violence.
This Saturday, working with the NYPD, New York State Attorney General and Pastor Michael V. Johnson, we collected 108 surrendered fi****ms, including six automatic weapons.
Each firearm removed from our streets represents a step toward safer neighborhoods and fewer opportunities for violence.

During a meeting of the Bayside Hills Civic Association, I talked to residents about our efforts to thwart residential burglaries in the area in partnership with the NYPD.
My office has dedicated resources and directed veteran prosecutors to investigate pattern burglaries and prosecute the accused.
Burglaries are down citywide 24.7 percent and in Queens North, the decrease is 47 percent.

An 18-year-old was arraigned on an indictment charging him with murder in the second degree, gang assault and weapon possession for the shooting death of 15-year-old Jaden Pierre in Roy Wilkins Park in St. Albans on April 16.
He faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted. https://bit.ly/3RoiHRk
