๐ ACFNY RECOMMENDED โ โจ Bearing Witness Across Generations: The Austrian Heritage Collection at 30
Hosted by the Leo Baeck Institute New York
๐ June 15, 2026 | ๐ 6 PM
๐ Leo Baeck Institute New York | 15 West 16th Street
๐ Free Admission - RSVP Required (Link in Bio)
Marking its 30th anniversary, the Austrian Heritage Collection reflects on three decades of documenting the stories of Austrian-Jewish emigrants who fled N**i persecution and rebuilt their lives in North America. Since 1996, "Gedenkdienst" volunteers have conducted more than 1,000 oral history interviews, preserving voices and histories that for many years received little public recognition.
As the era of firsthand witnesses comes to an end, the project increasingly turns toward the second generation. Nina Glueckselig, Leonie Eidinger, and Beatrice Segal share the stories of their families while reflecting on memory, intergenerational responsibility, and the future of Holocaust remembrance.
