🔥 DANGEROUS FIRE CONDITIONS FRIDAY (10/16/26) AND SATURDAY (10/17/26)

Strong winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation are creating dangerous fire conditions across Mississippi today and into the weekend. Red Flag Warnings are in effect today as a strong cold front moves through, bringing northwest winds gusting between 25 and 35 mph.

These conditions can cause fires to spread quickly, so now is the time to take extra precautions.

🚫 Help prevent wildfires:

Follow local burn bans and restrictions.

Avoid outdoor burning.

Secure trailer chains to prevent sparks.

Dispose of ci******es properly.

Stay Safe Mississippi!

Remember if you burn while under burn ban you can receive a violation!

Jasper County is now under a BURN BAN, effective 10/19/26 - 11/19/26.

Due to dry conditions and increased fire danger, residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning until further notice. Violations of the burn ban may result in fines or other penalties as provided by law. Please help protect our communities, property, and first responders by complying with the burn ban.

Congratulations to all!

Congratulations to the 2026 Jasper County Emergency Medical Responder class for passing their Finals and Skills Assessments!

They have spent many hours in class, practicing skills and studying! They will have one more final test to take with the National Registry Exam!

Bay Springs VFD members in this class are: Roger Smith, Christopher Hillman, Linzy Hillman, Russell Gould, and Carlos Ruiz.

Central VFD responded to a 18 Wheeler log truck rollover HAL VFD and Montrose VFD provided mutual aid and help with traffic control the driver walk away with only minor injuries
