We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to one of our district residents for generously donating this painting. The painting is a rendition of the FDNY Memorial Wall, the large bronze bas-relief memorial at Engine Company 10 / Ladder Company 10 (“Ten House”) in Lower Manhattan, across from the World Trade Center site.

The original memorial, dedicated in 2006, commemorates the 343 FDNY firefighters who died on September 11, 2001. It depicts firefighters, fire apparatus, ladders, hoses, and rescue/recovery activity at Ground Zero.

With the 25th anniversary tomorrow, we would like everyone to take a moment to honor those who sacrificed their lives and those who still suffer from the events of that day.

Thank you again to the resident who wishes to remain anonymous; we truly love the support!
