Growing Our Own Since 1985 Southeast Arizona Health Education Center/SEAHEC was established in 1985 as Arizona's first AHEC.

It is now part of a state-wide network of five regional Area Health Education Centers. Each regional AHEC operates independently, receiving funding and support from the Arizona Health Education Center at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson.

❤️ Coming together for a drug-free future!

Today, SEAHEC staff attended the Red Ribbon Luncheon at the Boys & Girls Club, joining community partners in supporting healthy futures for our youth.

Throughout the week, Aissa and Pablo visited an elementary school and a middle school to talk with students about staying drug-free and making healthy choices. They even got to say hello to our little friend at school—a sweet highlight of their visit! 🥰

Every conversation is an opportunity to connect, encourage, and empower our youth. ❤️

Hoy, el equipo de SEAHEC asistió al almuerzo de la Semana del Listón Rojo en el Boys & Girls Club, junto a organizaciones de la comunidad comprometidas con un futuro saludable para nuestra juventud.

Durante la semana, Aissa y Pablo visitaron una escuela primaria y una secundaria para conversar con estudiantes sobre la importancia de vivir sin dr**as y tomar decisiones saludables. También pudieron saludar a nuestro amiguito en la escuela, ¡un momento muy especial de su visita! 🥰

Cada conversación es una oportunidad para conectar, motivar y fortalecer a nuestra juventud. ❤️

Today, Southeast Arizona Health Education Center (SEAHEC) joins communities across the nation in mourning the passing of Dolores Huerta, a remarkable leader, civil rights activist, and lifelong advocate for social justice.

Her dedication to farmworkers, immigrant communities, women’s rights, and equality helped transform countless lives and inspired generations to stand together for dignity and justice.

At SEAHEC, we honor her extraordinary legacy and recognize that her life’s work reflects the values we carry into our communities every day: compassion, empowerment, equity, and the belief that every voice matters.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, and all those whose lives she touched.

Her voice may be silent, but her legacy will continue to inspire generations.

🌼 Honoring memories through culture and connection! 🕯️

Yesterday, our CHWs Aissa and Pablo led an intergenerational workshop at the Restorative Center on the elements of building a Día de Mu***os altar and their significance in honoring loved ones. 💛

Participants shared experiences with trauma, grief, and loss and discussed healthy ways to cope without turning to va**ng or to***co use. Together, they explored how traditions and connections across generations can support healing. 🌼✨

This workshop was made possible through the HAPI and TFL grants and our collaboration with Circles of Peace.

🎗️ Learning together for a healthier community! SEAHEC CHWs Aissa & Pablo led a HAPI workshop on understanding different types of cancer with the wonderful ladies at the Circles of Peace Restorative Center. Thank you for welcoming us! 💜

🎀 CHW Aissa represented SEAHEC at the Binational Breast Cancer Walk, from the Mexican Consulate to the border, where participants from Nogales, Sonora, and Nogales, Arizona, formed a ribbon along the border wall to raise breast cancer awareness. 💗

🎀 Nuestra promotora de salud Aissa representó a SEAHEC en la Caminata Binacional contra el Cáncer de Mama, desde el Consulado de México hasta la frontera, donde participantes de ambos Nogales formaron un listón junto al muro fronterizo para crear conciencia sobre el cáncer de mama. 💗
