🐾 Finch is still figuring out people—but making dog friends? He’s got that down! 🐶❤️

Finch came to us as a stray with his brother, Atticus. He’s learning to trust humans, and he needs a family willing to give him time and patience as his confidence grows.

With other dogs, Finch is quick to make friends! He’s a big, playful goofball, and a compatible canine buddy might help him feel more at home while he learns the ropes.

A little patience, plenty of playtime, and the chance to build trust—could you give Finch his fresh start?

Come meet him at Norman Animal Welfare! Have a dog at home? Talk with our staff about a proper introduction.

🐾❤️ Her dedication changes lives. Her leadership inspires us all.

Best Friends Animal Society featured our manager, Kellee Robertson, in a beautiful story about her compassion and commitment to animals and the people who love them.

Kellee works day and night to make sure the animals at Norman Animal Welfare receive the care, love, and opportunities they deserve. Her tireless leadership and compassion are a driving force behind our ability to consistently maintain a live release rate over 92%. To her, every animal is an individual worth fighting for and is always the priority.

Admired and respected by her employees, Kellee leads by example and sets high standards for animal welfare. Her dedication inspires our team to give our best every day, and her actions consistently show how deeply she cares about the animals entrusted to us.

Kellee, thank you for caring so deeply, working so hard, and continually finding ways to help more animals. Thank you for leading by example and showing us what compassion, dedication, and a commitment to animal welfare look like in action. We are grateful to have you leading Norman Animal Welfare!

🐾💚 A HUGE Thank You to Kappa! 💚🐾

We want to give a big shoutout to the wonderful ladies of Kappa for their incredibly generous donation to Norman Animal Welfare!

They showed up with a TON of paper towels, bleach, dog food, treats, and toys! 🧻🧼🐶

It may not be the most glamorous stuff, but supplies like paper towels and bleach are absolute GOLD in an animal shelter! And of course, our furry residents are always happy to receive food, treats, and new toys!

We are so grateful for Kappa’s generosity and support! Thank you for thinking of our shelter animals and helping us keep their tails wagging and their spaces clean!

Our community truly makes a difference, and we appreciate you! 🐾💕

Meet Rue: affectionate, full of personality, and still searching for her perfect roommate!

Rue enjoys affection and a good case of the zoomies, but we need to talk about her less charming habit: she has been returned twice for biting her humans.

We don’t believe she’s trying to be mean. Is she attempting a love nibble? Getting overstimulated? We aren’t sure—and whatever the reason, the bites need to be taken seriously.

The reported incidents have often happened at night, including a bite to an adopter’s ear after a round of zoomies. Rue’s future family will need to accommodate her needs and safely manage nighttime interactions.

As for furry roommates? Rue did not get along with the dog in one home, and she may need to be the only cat, too. Having her humans all to herself may be more her style!

Rue has affection to give, and we’re looking for someone who understands both her lovable side and her challenges. Finding the right fit matters—we want her next move to be her last.

Think you might be Rue’s person? Contact Norman Animal Welfare to chat with our staff about her needs!

Five-year-old Ma Rainey is trying to be brave, but the shelter can be a scary place for a sweet, gentle heart.

She came to us as a stray, and while we don’t know her story, we know she deserves a loving next chapter. A home where she can feel safe, settle in at her own pace, and let her sweet personality shine.

Ma Rainey doesn’t need you to know her past. She just needs someone willing to be her future.

Could you be her furever family? Come meet this sweetheart at Norman Animal Welfare. And if you can’t adopt, please share—her person may be just one post away.

🐈‍⬛🖤 Happy National Black Cat Day! Meet Pluto! 🖤🐈‍⬛

Forget the superstitions—black cats are nothing but GOOD LUCK! 🍀 And we have a special little house panther we’d love for you to meet!

🐾 Meet Pluto! 🐾

Pluto is a 4-year-old handsome black kitty who may be a little shy at first, but underneath that timid exterior is a sweet boy just waiting for someone to give him a chance.

Pluto also has some skin issues that we believe may be allergy-related. While we always recommend that adopters take their new pets to their veterinarian for a wellness exam within the first 30 days, this will be especially important for Pluto. He may need ongoing medication to help manage his skin condition and keep him comfortable.

We know that sometimes the pets who need a little extra care are the ones who get overlooked, but Pluto deserves a loving home just as much as any other kitty!

This National Black Cat Day, we’re hoping someone will see past Pluto’s shyness and skin issues and recognize the sweet boy underneath.

Come meet Pluto at Norman Animal Welfare and help us keep Bringing People and Pets Together! 🐾❤️
