“The Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board has experienced issues with its database since October 7 that have prevented it from being able to verify licenses and registrations, renew expiring licenses and registrations, or issue new licenses and registrations. We apologize for these issues, but we hope to have our online system working soon.
During this period, we understand that some licenses will expire and that some new applications that would support licenses will not be able to be processed. Because of this, we want to insure that all cities, counties or other municipalities, project owners or homeowners considering entering into contracts with contractors, are aware of the following: (1) The Contractors Licensing Board will take no enforcement action for being unlicensed against any contractor whose license or registration expires before we can renew it. We will consider the expiring license or registration to be automatically extended until a renewal can be processed. (2) The Contractors Licensing Board will encourage all local permitting offices and code enforcement offices to consider licenses and registrations that have expired since October 1, 2026 to be extended and valid, until the renewal can be processed. Once we are able to process applications, we will immediately post notice of that fact on this website and also on the Contractors Licensing Board’s page.
We apologize for all inconvenience, and we further encourage anyone with questions about the status of a license to contact our office at 501-372-4661 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.”
