Six members of the Upper Gwynedd Township Police Department traveled to Philadelphia to join hundreds of fellow law enforcement officers from departments near and far in paying their final respects to Sergeant Shane Seiber.

The overwhelming presence of law enforcement officers was a powerful display of unity, respect, and the unwavering bond shared within the law enforcement community. Regardless of the badge we wear or the department we serve, we stand together as one family, especially during times of loss. Sergeant Seiber was tragically killed in the line of duty on October 10, 2026. He leaves behind his wife and two young children.

It was an honor to stand shoulder to shoulder with our brothers and sisters in blue as we remembered Sergeant Seiber and showed our support for his family, friends, and fellow officers.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with all those affected by his loss.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER, MIDDLE SCHOOL COACH ARRESTED FOR INVOLUNTARY DEVIATE SEXUAL IN*******SE

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Upper Gwynedd Chief of Police David Duffy announce the arrest of Jason Theodore, 54, of Upper Gwynedd on felony charges of Involuntary Deviate Sexual In*******se, Statutory Sexual Assault, Unlawful Contact with a Minor and related offenses against three victims.

The investigation began on Sept. 9, 2026, when Upper Gwynedd Police received a report from a young adult disclosing years-long sexual abuse that began when he was around the age of 13. The victim reported meeting the man online and later learned he was Jason Theodore, a physical education teacher at Montgomery Elementary School in the North Penn School District, wrestling coach for Pennbrook Middle School and a local hockey coach. The school district immediately placed Theodore on administrative leave after the investigation began.

Through the investigation, police identified and interviewed two additional victims who reported being sexually abused by Theodore after meeting him online. One victim had previously been Theodore’s student, and Theodore initiated online contact only after the child was no longer in his class. Two said he used the pseudonym “John.” The abuse reportedly occurred between 2019 and 2023 and began when the victims were between 13 and 16 years old.

All three victims reported that Theodore contacted them online, solicited Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and provided them alcohol and ma*****na.

Theodore was arrested on Sept. 25, 2026, by Upper Gwynedd Police Department. Theodore was arraigned today by Magisterial District Judge Maureen C. Coggins, who denied bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1, 2026, at 10 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Suzan G. Leonard.

Anyone who believes they or someone they know may have been victimized by Theodore is encouraged to contact Montgomery County Detectives at 610-278-3368 and ask for Det. Dana Ganard.

CRIMINAL CHARGES, AND ANY DISCUSSION THEREOF, ARE MERELY ALLEGATIONS AND ALL DEFENDANTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL AND UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY.

School is officially back in session! As you may have already noticed your commute time may get slower due to the influx of busses and vehicles returning to school.

Please be cognizant and leave a little earlier if you need to be somewhere during the morning and evening rush hours.

Friendly reminders:

🚓 School zones are 15mph only! You will see a sign with yellow flashing lights reminding you that the school zones are active. Please keep the kiddos safe by staying alert and driving slowly.

🚌 North Penn is participating in BusPatrol again. Each NPSD bus is equipped with photo enforcement technology. This system captures vehicles that illegally pass stopped busses with red lights flashing and stop arms extended. Video evidence is reviewed by local police before a citation is issued.

We hope you all have a safe, fun, and enjoyable school year!

Please see the below flyer put out by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for some tips for both students and drivers!
