🚒 Safety Week in District 27! 🚒

This past week, our schools focused on important safety topics, including playground safety and our “Never Never” rules. We also partnered with the Northbrook Fire Department for fire safety presentations and CPR training.

We couldn’t ask for better community partners! Thank you to the Northbrook Fire Department for helping our students build important safety skills.

**Families, keep the learning going at home! Here are a few ways to reinforce fire and emergency safety with your children:

🏡 Designate an outdoor family meeting spot in case of an emergency.

📍 Help your children memorize your home address so they can provide it when calling 911.

🔔 Test your smoke detectors at least once a month.

🚪 Sleep with bedroom doors closed to help slow the spread of smoke and fire.

Stay safe!

The Board of Education enjoyed a wonderful presentation from Hickory Point first graders last night! The students shared how their Being A Reader curriculum helps them strengthen literacy skills, expand vocabulary, make meaningful connections, and build reading fluency. We loved hearing about all the ways they are growing as readers! 📚❤️
