It is easy to fund a building. You can see it, point to it, put a name on it.

People are harder. Investing in someone means backing a person whose progress you cannot always measure, and trusting that healing moves on its own timeline.

That is the bet Maria made when she joined our board. It is the same bet this community keeps making in each other, quietly, every day.

On June 20, we get to see what that looks like gathered in one room.

Financiar un edificio es fácil. Se puede ver, señalar, ponerle un nombre.

Las personas son más difíciles. Invertir en alguien significa apostar por una persona cuyo avance no siempre se puede medir, y confiar en que la sanación avanza a su propio ritmo.

Esa es la apuesta que hizo Maria al unirse a nuestra junta. Es la misma apuesta que esta comunidad sigue haciendo, una por la otra, en silencio, todos los días.

El 20 de junio podremos ver cómo se ve eso, reunido en una sola sala.

That's what it took. Years gone, and then a truth that simple cutting through all of it.

What followed wasn't relief. It was responsibility. The choice to stay, and to help someone else find their way out.

Sad and rewarding, both at once. Mostly rewarding.

"La vida vale más que esto."

Eso fue lo que hizo falta. Años perdidos, y después una verdad así de sencilla abriéndose paso entre todo.

Lo que vino después no fue alivio. Fue responsabilidad. La decisión de quedarse, y de ayudar a alguien más a encontrar su salida.

Triste y gratificante, las dos cosas a la vez. Más que nada, gratificante.

Change is something a person has to choose. Some days that choice is the hardest thing they do, and they make it anyway. Quietly. Often with nobody watching.
We are not here to judge. We stay close, and we say the words back when someone forgets them. You are worth the change you are reaching for.

El cambio es algo que la persona tiene que elegir. Hay días en que esa decisión es lo más difícil que harán, y aun así la toman. En silencio. Muchas veces sin que nadie los vea.
No estamos aquí para juzgar. Acompañamos, y repetimos las palabras cuando alguien las olvida. Vales el cambio que estás buscando.
