🏖️🪣 The Holden Beach Toy Box Has TWO New Items! ☀️🌊

While dropping off some new buckets at the Holden Beach Toy Box, we noticed a beautiful surprise placed beside it. ❤️

A thoughtful visitor had left a box of tennis balls in tribute to their beloved dog. What a lovely gesture—and a sweet reminder of the special place our pets hold in our hearts. 🐾🎾

We’re also grateful to SBI Rotary member Ed Hartnett, who does such a wonderful job keeping our toy box clean, cared for, and stocked for families to enjoy.

Our Beach Toy Boxes are all about sharing a little fun and making beach visits easier for families. But sometimes, they remind us of something even bigger: the kindness and thoughtfulness of our community.

Thank you to everyone who donates, takes care of the boxes, and shares a little joy with others. 💙💛

A little kindness goes a long way—on the beach and beyond!

🛍️❤️ A Night of Shopping, Community & Giving Back!

SBI Rotary was happy to be part of the fun at the Habitat for Humanity Restore-Ocean Isle Beach, NC for their special evening shopping event!

What a great reminder of what makes our community so special. When we show up to support local nonprofits, we’re doing more than shopping—we’re helping organizations continue their important work right here in Brunswick County.

A big thank-you to everyone who worked behind the scenes, volunteered, supported the event, and came out to shop! Your time, energy, and generosity made the evening a success.

And a special shout-out to Joey O’s Pizzeria! You keep us happy—and never hangry! 🍕❤️

We love seeing local organizations, businesses, and neighbors come together for a good cause.

Supporting one another is what community is all about. We can’t wait until the next night of shopping! 💙💛

💜 We’re Painting Ourselves Purple for World Polio Day!💜

Our pinkies, that is! 💅

SBI Rotarians are showing their support for World Polio Day by painting our pinkies purple—a small gesture that represents a BIG commitment to ending polio worldwide.

Rotary has been working for decades to eradicate this devastating disease, and we’re proud of the commitment of South Brunswick Islands Rotary to raising funds and awareness for this important mission.

Every dollar raised, every conversation shared, and every effort made brings us one step closer to a world where no child ever has to suffer from polio.

💜 We’re proud to be People of Action. We’re proud to be part of the fight. And we won’t stop until polio is gone for good!

💜 99.9% down. But the job isn't finished.

It’s tempting to think that because we’ve made so much progress against polio, the problem has been solved. Unfortunately, that isn't the case.

Wild poliovirus remains endemic in Afghanistan and Pakistan. As long as the virus exists anywhere, children everywhere remain at risk.

Ending polio requires continued vaccination, disease surveillance, funding, and the determination to reach every child—including those in hard-to-reach communities.

That last step matters. If the world stops before polio is eradicated, the disease could return and undo decades of progress.

Tomorrow is World Polio Day. Let's use it as a reminder that we must finish what we've started.

🌎 Together, we can help make history.

🌎💜 Did you know polio is still a threat to children around the world?

Polio is a highly infectious disease that primarily affects children under age five. It can cause permanent paralysis and, in some cases, death. There is no cure—but polio can be prevented with vaccination.

That’s why Rotary has made ending polio one of its most important global missions.

On October 24, Rotarians around the world will recognize World Polio Day, raising awareness and support for the effort to protect every child from this devastating disease.

Over the next week, we’ll share more about Rotary’s role in this incredible effort and why the work must continue.

💜 One world. One goal. End polio for good.

🏖️🪣 A Little Beach Toy Box, A LOT of Smiles!☀️🌊

While restocking the Ocean Isle Beach Toy Box in preparation for the Oyster Festival, we had a special visitor! 💙

His dad told us he makes a beeline for the toy box every time they visit the beach so he can pick out a toy to enjoy. How fun is that?! 🥰

It’s a simple project, but seeing families enjoy it reminds us why we do it.

A BIG thank-you to everyone who has donated toys for others to enjoy! Your generosity helps families make beach memories without having to bring every toy from home.

♻️ Take a toy, enjoy the beach, and return it for the next family to enjoy!

That’s Rotary in action—sharing a little fun, one beach toy at a time. 💙💛
