Call Directions

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) provides a staff member and the actual location for the Rainbow Room.

The Rainbow Room in Odessa is an emergency resource room located at Child Protective Services (DFPS) to assist with the children that are brought in to CPS/foster care. The coordinator and the Community Partners board members network with the community as ambassadors of both the agency and the volunteer board, interacting with caseworkers to facilitate action that will benefit the children and their families. It is the goal of Community Partners to increase community awareness regarding child abuse and help children grow up to be healthy, productive adults.

Last Friday evening our team manned a table at the MCH (Methodist Children's Home) Permian Basin Fall Festival as they held their first trunk or treat. Board members Gail and Karen joined coordinator Fabiola as attendees played games and scored some candy, etc. Team member Valencia also joined in on the fun for awhile and Karen sported a 'cheeky' rainbow.

We are so happy we were able to participate in such a wonderful event thanks to MCH Family Outreach.

Here's a throwback TO a Thursday - our friends at Complex Community Federal Credit Union came by on International Credit Union Day (10/15) and brought us a donation like they do every year. We are so pleased they include us in their annual celebration and we will share the bounty with the children in our care.

This is the second year Tally has blessed us with this event. We are so grateful for their support!

It's a good day for some softball! We are enjoying being "spoiled" today by Tally. Left to right are board members Karen, Gail, Janis, and Amy.

This weekend!!

09/11/2026

The folks from Crossroads Odessa recently gathered items from their Sunday School classes - youth to adult - to provide this donation for our Rainbow Room. Today representatives met with two of our board members to deliver the bounty. You can see Amy and Janis smiling their gratitude in the midst of the volunteers that dropped off everything. Their names are Trey Hammond, Burke Millard, Jafeth Aleman, and Denziel Ortiz.

Whether you want to 'gather' a team OR prefer to attend as a fan, here's an opportunity for some softball fun (Rainbow Room approved), of course).

07/24/2026

Rounding up the usual "suspects" - from one of our longest-serving board members (Janis Smith) to the "next generation" folks (the Watts offspring) - we SO appreciate those folks we can always count on when work is to be done. As always, thankful for our volunteers!

07/24/2026

The folks from Phillips 66 in the Permian Basin showed up in a big way for our annual "backpack stuffing" assembly line today. Their volunteers made it possible to handle our goal of 500 for the upcoming school year. They also brought a BIG check to assist us in our mission to care for those in CPS/foster care. We are so very grateful for their help and the financial assistance.

07/24/2026

Fair warning: multiple posts are coming. Today our volunteers took school supplies (see cart photo) and turned them into premade backpacks (see other photo) for the students in CPS/foster care. What a whirlwind!
