Halloween should be spooky for you, but not your pets! 🧟🐾

Keep your furry friends safe this Halloween by keeping candy and chocolate out of reach, making sure pets have proper ID, and giving them a quiet, comfortable place away from the doorbell and trick-or-treaters. Costumes should be comfortable, and pets should always be supervised around decorations and candies.

Closing night of Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month, and the star of the show is still waiting in the wings 🎭✨
Miss Piggy is 6 years old, has a tail with built-in flair, plays ball like it’s opening night, and won’t take a pill unless it comes wrapped in a Vienna sausage. She’s spent over 130 days performing for shelter visitors. Now she wants a permanent stage.
As a 60+ Day Club member, her adoption fees are waived. No ticket required 🎟️

It's a frog! It's a cat! Nope, it's Stormy!! ⛈️🐾

Today's Foster Friday highlight is none other than Stormy the cat!

Stormy’s forecast: a 100% chance of snuggles! 🥰

This little sweetheart loves her cat foster siblings and considers anyone who tells her she’s cute a new best friend. Compliments are clearly the way to her heart, right alongside a cozy lap.

Stormy is a champion snuggler, but she’s also perfectly happy making her own fun when everyone else is busy. Sweet, social, and delightfully entertaining, she’s the whole kitten package.

Her name may be Stormy, but this girl is pure sunshine. Whoever brings her home wins. 🏡

🩵 Peanut is ready for a fresh start! 🥜

At just over a year old, Peanut has already experienced more hardship than any young dog should. He was confiscated from a situation of cruelty involving emaciation, and now he deserves the chance to learn what it feels like to be safe, loved and cared for.

This handsome, medium-sized Staffordshire mix has a playful, social side, too! Peanut frequently initiates play with other dogs and seeks them out to say hello. His playstyle is push-and-pull, and he would do best with a tolerant canine companion who can match his energy. While he's dog friendly, he can be reactive, so thoughtful introductions are important.

Could you be the fresh start Peanut has been waiting for? Visit the St. Louis County Pet Adoption Center to meet him and learn more about adoption! 🩵🥜

🐻 Waka Waka Waka! 🐻

Fozzie is getting into the Halloween spirit and really hopes he can spend the holiday with a new family!! 👻

This sweet 2-year-old boy has spent the last month in our shelter after he was brought in as a stray. And in that short amount of time, he's become a favorite among volunteers and staff!

Fozzie is a very inquisitive and curious pup! He already has shown he knows "sit", takes treats very gently, and even keeps his kennel clean! Fozzie has not been officially dog-tested at our shelter yet but has displayed basically zero reactivity and has shown interest in meeting other friends! 🐾

If you're looking for the perfect pup who is gentle, sweet, smart, and just a little bit goofy, Fozzie is your guy! 🏡

Come meet Fozzie and add your new best friend to your life today! ❤️

He’s not the dog this shelter deserves. He’s the dog your home needs. 🦇🐾
By day, Wayne is a calm, gentlemanly 3-year-old who loves a good head scratch. By night... still that, plus treats. Lots of treats. He’s looking for his forever family and a Batcave of his own (a couch will do).
