Cooling Centers
We're in for a hot week.
Hot and humid weather is expected over the next several days. Now is the time to plan ahead and take steps to stay safe.
Cooling centers provide a safe, air-conditioned place to cool down during extreme heat. They are especially important for older adults, young children, people with chronic health conditions, pregnant individuals, and anyone without air conditioning at home.
A list and map of cooling centers throughout Oswego County is available by scanning the QR code or visiting our website at https://health.oswegocountyny.gov/programs/1_emergency_preparedness/2022_cooling_centers.php.
Before you go:
Call ahead to confirm the location is open.
Follow the facility's policies and guidelines.
Drink plenty of water and limit time outdoors during the hottest part of the day.
Heat-related illnesses can happen quickly. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and check on family, friends, and neighbors who may need extra assistance.
