July 16,2026 Overton City Council voted and approved to accept donation of property for a new water well. Currently waiting on a survey to transfer ownership of property. This property is located behind the Billy Max Moore Prison on County Road 132(Devonian Road). By drilling a well in this location it will allow Overton to operate on two pressure points which will allow Overton to have better pressure and water throughout the system. The property is being donated to the City of Overton by Shane & DeAnne West. Overton is currently in a position of hopefully receiving a state infrastructure grant for 750,000.00 in one to two years.

The Overton City Council voted on and passed daycare has a name as of last night’s council meeting. The daycare will be in the former City Hall on the side the city operated out of. Hopefully this will help with the child care needs in our town and surrounding communities. Options are still open for the former Overton Police Department side. Hopefully the daycare will be up and running in the next two to three months.
