Title IX became law on June 23, 1972, to prohibit s*x-based discrimination in federally funded educational programs.

Fifty-four years later, Title IX is at the center of one of the most consequential legal battles before the U.S. Supreme Court – Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. B.P.J., two consolidated cases that will determine whether states can ban biological men from competing in women's sports. A decision is expected this month. We filed an amicus brief in both cases, arguing that Title IX was written to protect women based on biological s*x, NOT "gender identity." Any interpretation otherwise that prioritizes protections for so-called "gender identity" eliminates Title IX’s s*x-based protections for women.

Today's anniversary of Title IX is a reminder of what Title IX was intended to protect. This shouldn't be controversial. Women's sports and spaces are for women only.
