At the June 9 Board of County Commissioners meeting, Putnam County proudly recognized Ali Gilbert of the Sanitation Department as Employee of the Month. 🎉

🚸 Investing in Safer School Zones 🚸
At the June 9 Board of County Commissioners meeting, Putnam County accepted a generous $16,000 donation from Krebs Land Development to help fund flashing speed signs at two local schools.
These enhanced safety signs will help increase driver awareness and encourage safer speeds during school hours, providing an added layer of protection for students, families, and school staff.
Putnam County is grateful for community partners like Krebs Land Development who invest in projects that make a positive difference in the lives of our residents.

Putnam County 4-H Summer Camps Are Here! 🍀☀️
Looking for a fun, educational, and adventure-filled summer? UF/IFAS Extension Putnam County 4-H is offering a variety of summer camps for youth, including nature exploration, sewing, beekeeping, leadership development, agritourism, space adventures, college and career readiness, and more!
📍 Camps will be held at locations throughout Putnam County, with some special off-site educational experiences.

Now is the time to get ready before a storm is on the way. Start by putting together an emergency kit with essentials like:
• A 3-day supply of non-perishable food and water
• First-aid kit and prescription medications
• Flashlights, extra batteries, and a battery-powered radio
• Hygiene and sanitation items
• Waterproof container for important documents and cash
• Items for pets and babies, if needed
• Cooler and ice packs
• A family evacuation plan in case of separation

Putnam Aquatics is offering swim lessons for children of all skill levels this summer at its temporary location while renovations continue at the county pool.

🏊♀️ Yesterday, Putnam County proudly accepted a $2,500 donation from the Azalea City Kiwanis Club to sponsor swim lessons for local children this summer.
Learning to swim is one of the most important safety skills a child can have in Florida, and this generous donation will help more families gain access to lifesaving swim instruction.
This summer’s swim lesson sessions will be held at the temporary Putnam Aquatics location at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 1414 Bronson Street in Palatka, while renovations continue at the county pool.

• Session 1: June 1 – June 12
• Session 2: June 15 – June 26
• Session 3: July 6 – July 17
• Session 4: July 20 – July 31 - Lessons are 50% off due to the Azalea City Kiwanis Club sponsorship.

Holiday Trash Collection – Memorial Day, Monday, May 25
The Central Landfill in Palatka, Huntington Solid Waste & Recycling Center in Crescent City, Interlachen Solid Waste & Recycling Center in Interlachen, and the Sanitation Administration Office will be closed on May 25 and then resume normal hours on May 26.
The Waste Pro office and operations will be closed on May 25.
The remainder of the week’s services will be on a one-day delay:
Monday collections will occur Tuesday
Tuesday collection will occur Wednesday
Wednesday collection will occur Thursday
Thursday collections will occur Friday
Friday collections will occur Saturday
