PPA enjoys playing dress up just as much as the students, but for the safety and welfare of everyone, here are the guidelines for wearing Halloween Costumes to school on October 30th, 2026.

Students may not wear masks in the school building. Students may wear face paint so long as it does not hide their identity. Students may not bring prop weapons to school. Costumes should be appropriate for all ages, students are cautioned from wearing costumes that may be too scary in nature for all audiences. Please avoid fake blood or gore for the sake of our kindergarteners.

Creating a great school requires the help and support of many different people: the teachers teaching the subject matter and the lessons on how to be a good human; the students arriving each day ready to learn, willing to grow, and putting themselves out there to accept the information; and the parents who take the time to bring their children to school, support their children in their studies and outside activities, and provide love and support in ALL things. Obviously, it takes a village.

We are all working to create great human beings, and we want to acknowledge a couple of parents each month who STAND OUT in their efforts.

We would like to celebrate two amazing parents for the month of October: Jamie Klusacek and Loubna Woodson

Each of these ladies has generously supported PPA with their volunteer efforts, and we greatly appreciate everything they do for us. From walking into the office with donations of food for the staff and for shareouts, to putting in time during driveline to help us move students into their cars faster, these things make a difference.

This Thursday, October 1st, 2026, is DCSD's Count Day. Student attendance count determines funding for schools across the state. Please do your very best to have your students at school.

Every student who is in attendance for the day will be entered into an opportunity drawing to win a Dress of Choice Coupon or a Get Out of Formal Day Coupon. Dress of Choice coupons give the winner the ability to wear dress of choice on a day of their choosing (except formal days)! The Get Out of Formal Day Coupon allows the student to wear their regular school uniform instead of the formal uniform for a formal day of their choice. Students must be present at school to be entered in the opportunity drawing. There will be 5 dress of choice coupons and 5 formal day coupons per grade level awarded! Winners will be announced Thursday afternoon.
