🚨 SCAM WISE WEDNESDAY-WHAT TO DO AFTER BEING SCAMMED🚨

If you think you’ve been scammed, don’t panic and don’t send more money. The first 24 hours are important for protecting yourself and preserving evidence.

✋ STOP — Don’t send any more money or communicate with the scammer.

📷 SAVE THE EVIDENCE — Keep all texts, emails, receipts, screenshots, and transaction records.

📞 CALL YOUR BANK — Report the suspected fraud immediately and ask if the transaction can be stopped or reversed.

🔒 SECURE YOUR ACCOUNTS — Change passwords, try using a two-factor authentication, and check for suspicious activity.

💻 PROTECT YOUR DEVICES — If you gave someone remote access, disconnect the affected device and get help securing it.

📝 REPORT THE SCAM — Contact your bank, the online platform involved, and the appropriate authorities here in Payette County.

⚠️ HEADS UP - WATCH FOR RECOVERY SCAMS!
Scammers may contact you pretending they can recover your money—for a fee.
Don’t pay them!

😁 REMEMBER: Acting quickly can help protect you and prevent others from becoming victims.
