The Central Mississippi Planning & Development District has been promoting regional excellence since 1968.

Our purpose is to assist with creative regional solutions to relevant and emerging issues for our participating governments. The Central Mississippi Planning and Development District (CMPDD), created in 1968, is a non-profit, regional planning organization serving the governments of seven adjacent counties in Central Mississippi – Copiah, Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Simpson, Warren, and Yazoo. CMPDD promotes area-wide progress through regional planning and development, seeking solutions to common problems shared throughout the area, small business financing, and the coordination of job training services and programs for senior citizens and the disabled. Today, CMPDD was pleased to host their quarterly Board of Directors meeting. The Board reviewed and approved the 2026-2027 Work Program and corresponding budgets. They also approved the EDA 2027-2032 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
