🔒 REMINDER: SECURE YOUR VEHICLE EVERY NIGHT

As we head into another evening, we want to remind everyone to take a few simple steps to protect your vehicle, your belongings, and your home.

🚗 Before you go inside for the night:

* Lock your vehicle.
* Remove valuables, fi****ms, electronics, and other items from view.
* Remove garage door openers from your vehicle. A garage door opener left inside a vehicle can provide criminals with easy access to your garage—and potentially your home.
* Close all windows and ensure doors are fully secured.
* Take your keys and key fobs inside with you.
* If possible, park in a well-lit and secure area.

Many vehicle burglaries are crimes of opportunity. An unlocked vehicle or valuable item left in plain sight can make your vehicle an easy target.

Take a few seconds tonight to lock it, remove your valuables and garage door opener, and protect what belongs to you. 🔐

Help us prevent crime in our community:

LOCK IT. REMOVE IT. TAKE IT.

During the investigation, the officer was able to identify one of the bicycles as being stolen property from the residence in the below video. The bicycle was seized and returned to the rightful owner. The Pelican Bay Police Department is still actively investigating this case to identify all parties involved. Thank you to everyone that reached out to offer tips and help.

The Pelican Bay Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying three persons, likely juveniles, involved in thefts that occurred in the early morning hours of 5/6/26 and 5/7/26, likely between the hours of 12:00am and 4:00am, in the area of Sheri Ln between Lark Ct and Long Ave.

Good morning Pelican Bay,

Numerous citizens have expressed concerns about individuals walking around the community looking at and even attempting to go on and into private property with what they believe to be nefarious intentions.

The Pelican Bay Police Department takes these concerns seriously and in an effort to deter and gather information of crimes being committed, the department may be placing cameras throughout the city where criminal activity is believed to be occurring. The police department may place these cameras on public or private property. That being said, the department will not place any camera on private property without the property owners expressed consent. Despite the rumors, the department has not placed any cameras up as of this post.

As a reminder, the police department would like everyone to ensure their vehicles and other property is secured every evening in order to protect their valuables.

As always, if you see something say something.

If it’s an emergency call 911. If it’s non emergency call 817-444-3221. You can also email the police department at [email protected].
