The Health Federation recently hosted a staff event focused on civic engagement and participation in honor of a big day on the civic calendar. This drop-in event on Primary Election Day fostered a thoughtful conversation and exchange of ideas regarding the many ways each of us can become more active in demonstrating our civil duties, and the importance of being active every single year.

Back by popular demand, the Health Federation recently hosted a Mindful Mingle event focused on Watering Yourself.
Using succulent planting and conversations around spring gardening, Health Federation staff center our own self care, discussing how to water yourself, your loved ones, and your community.
We held events at both our 123 South Broad Street and Oxford Mills offices.
Activities (like planting) are just the spark for a deeper conversation with our HFP community.

A program designed to support City of Philadelphia health center patients in need of assistance paying for medications has saved $3.4 million in prescription medication costs over the past fiscal year. The health centers have onsite pharmacies, but when patients need a medication that is not available onsite, the Patient Assistance Program provides help.
Each health center is staffed by a National Health Corps member who serves as a patient advocate, helping patients to determine if a medication can be ordered through a manufacturing pharmaceutical company’s patient assistance program, and helping patients apply for those medications.
