🍂 BRANCH PICKUP SEASON IS COMPLETE! 🍂

The Plainfield Township Highway Department is feeling both excited and relieved to announce that today marks the end of a very challenging and stormy branch pickup season! 🌳💪

We want to thank our residents for their patience and our incredible street crew for all their hard work throughout a season filled with storm cleanup, heavy debris, and long days.

🚛 Now it’s time to switch gears!

Our crew is changing out equipment and preparing for leaf pickup season. We know residents are eager to see the transition, but please remember that our Highway Department must constantly prepare for the next season while wrapping up the current one. First, branches. Next, leaves. And before we know it, we’ll be preparing for snow and ice operations! ❄️

📬 A REMINDER ABOUT LEAF PICKUP:

Please refer to the leaf pickup flyers that were mailed to your homes. We’ve included another photo of the flyer here for your convenience so you can review the program guidelines.

✅ The leaf pickup guidelines have NOT changed from previous years, please take a moment to review them before the program begins.

🚜We are continuing to work on mowing and general road district maintenance throughout the month.

We appreciate your kindness and for supporting your Plainfield Township Highway Department! 🍁

🚧 Thank you to the Highway Department street crew, and to the community. We have to take advantage of this weather that we’re getting, to get some of our road maintenance done. This work is important and dangerous. Our team is going as quickly as they can, and we appreciate the residents for slowing down and obeying our traffic control signs. It’s important to us that everybody gets to go home safe at the end of the day. These are some important reminders and information about what we are doing on the unincorporated roads. 🚧

🇺🇸Heroes Of Plainfield Township 🇺🇸

It was such an honor for our Plainfield Township Highway Department team, Township Board members, and administrator to meet with our local Township heroes. It was an privilege to share great conversations, and present them with their Hero Banners that are now proudly displayed on Renwick road, in front of the Plainfield American Legion Marne Post 13.

These banners are more than signs, they are a reminder to our entire community of the men and women who have served our country and the sacrifices they and their families have made for all of us. We are incredibly grateful to have so many of our American heroes right here in Plainfield Township.

A special thank-you to State Rep Jessica Dixon Heitman of the 97th District for sponsoring the banners and helping make this tribute possible. We are also so grateful for our partnership with the American Legion and Commander David LeFrancis. Working together allows us to continue finding meaningful ways to recognize and honor our veterans!

Thank you to all of our veterans for your service, your sacrifice, and for being such an important part of our community. 🇺🇸

We are grateful for the opportunity to honor the memory and service of 🇺🇸Corporal Brandon Meyers. His banner serves as a lasting tribute to his dedication, sacrifice, and service to our country. We are honored to remember Corporal Meyers and ensure that his legacy continues to be recognized throughout our community.

If you or someone you know is a veteran who would like to have a banner displayed in Plainfield Township, please reach out to the Plainfield Township Highway Department or the American Legion Marne Post 13.

We are proud to honor our heroes and proud to call them our neighbors. 🇺🇸

Highway Conmissioner,
Christy Bryant
