Today’s is an homage to the Iconic Yellowstone Hotel. I’m always searching for photographic evidence that gives us a glimpse into what our downtown was like in the early days. These images are so wonderful- the early artistic rendering that includes a glimpse of the Depot in the background, and that sign on the rooftop, and the (now)vintage cars and folks on the street going about their day. The letterhead that is so fanciful and magestic, just like the building itself. The rendering of the lobby, stepping back in time to when quality and grand design mattered to all who created the atmosphere for those who walked through the doors and stayed at the hotel or ate at the cafe. And of course the black and white photo of the building with the neon sign pointed in the opposite direction from where it sits today. All of that history. It’s so beautiful, and continues to be. Stop by some afternoon or evening and enjoy some dinner, drinks and entertainment at the The Yellowstone Restaurant , the 313 Wh***ey bar or the more laid back The Union Taproom , where you can feel the history and know that is it honored and respected every day.
