Reflecting on an amazing experience at the Alliance Française Fédération Convention in Chicago! 🌟 It was a fantastic opportunity to join forces with our Academic Director Shieva Ghassemi, President Isabelle Guglielmi, and other dedicated members of the Alliance Française network, including Yves Bigot from the Fondation des Alliances Françaises and National Coordinator Christel Outreman. Together, we exchanged ideas, strengthened our bonds, and re-emphasized our commitment to promoting the beauty of the French language and culture throughout North America 🇫🇷✨

We also enjoyed connecting with members from the Francophone network and our fellow alliances from Canada and France. A huge thank you to the French consulate in Chicago and the Villa Albertine team for making this experience even more impactful. 🤝 The insights gained and relationships forged during this gathering will certainly help us elevate the presence of French culture right here in Kansas City!

Let's continue to share our love for the French language and culture! ❤️

P.S. Guess who we ran into at the convention? Our former president Catherine, now part of AF Miami!

🎥 The Movie: Le Dîner de cons
Directed by Francis Veber, this beloved French comedy follows Pierre Brochant and his friends, who organize dinners where each guest brings someone they consider a fool. But when Pierre invites François Pignon, a kind-hearted man with a passion for building matchstick models, the evening takes an unexpected turn! 😂
With witty dialogue, hilarious misunderstandings, and sharp humor, this film offers plenty to discuss about human nature, prejudice, and the art of making people laugh.

🎞️ Watch the movie at home before the event!
Le Dîner de cons is available on Kanopy, a free streaming platform accessible through many public libraries with your library card, including Johnson County Library and Kansas City Public Library.
Then join us for a friendly conversation in French about the film, its characters, themes, and your impressions.

👉 Please register to attend! Spaces are limited, so RSVP now to reserve your seat.
If you register but later find you cannot attend, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.

🍿 Watch. Discuss. Share your perspective. In French!
We look forward to seeing you for a wonderful evening of French cinema and conversation! 💙🤍❤️
