Ramona Senior Center is a nonprofit organization, servicing the Ramona community, with the mission to contribute to our seniors. (PEF, Inc.

The Ramona Community Center, located in Ramona's Community Park, is home to Pacific Educational Facilities, Inc. DBA the Ramona Senior Center) and its activities. Nutrition Services includes a lunch program on site for a suggested donation of $5.00. Our Nutrition Advisory Council and other outreach services include information and referrals and the distribution of bread and other baked goods. We also conduct nutrition information (diabetes) seminars, a healthy snack program, controlling your cholesterol and others as they become available. Health screening and services include blood pressure screening, flu shots, Alzheimer support group and low impact aerobics. Educational and Social Programs include classes for quilters, computer lab, pool tournaments, bingo, 500+ volume library, bridge group, writing classes and a travel club, The Ramona Ramblers. We also celebrate birthdays and holidays. Transportation is provided for seniors who live in the local area who desire to come to our center for lunch for a suggested donation of $1.00 each way. Volunteer opportunities provide service to The Senior Center. This offers leadership opportunities, meaningful work, a chance to learn new skills and a chance to brush up on old ones. All of the programs provide a context for making friends, an essential element in maintaining health and independence. The isolation that many seniors experience when they retire or move from their friends and their support system to be nearer their children or when a spouse passes or when their own health begins to fail, can be debilitating. Strong networks and a social system are key elements to breaking through the isolation and generating connections prolongs independent living and well-being.

The CARE program provides a 30% or more discount on monthly energy bills for eligible households. Eligibility is based on household size and income, or participation in certain public-assistance programs. Applying is quick and easy, with no documentation required. Join us at the Ramona Senior Center on Wednesday, November 4, at 11:30 AM for a Holiday Scam Prevention Class presented by the Ramona Sheriff’s Department! Learn about common holiday scams and how to protect yourself from fraud.

Stay for lunch, too! Seniors 60+ are a suggested donation of $5, and guests accompanying seniors are $8.

Come learn, enjoy a meal, and help keep yourself safe this holiday season!

Our seniors had a wonderful time painting pumpkins for Halloween at the Ramona Senior Center on Friday! It’s so special for folks to enjoy the traditions of the season, get creative, and make fun memories together.

A huge thank-you to our anonymous donor for generously providing 25 pumpkins for our seniors to paint! Your kindness helped bring a little extra Halloween spirit and a lot of smiles to our center.
