Williamsburg Elementary School

Call Directions Website

Williamsburg Elementary School Williamsburg Elementary is a rural, community school in the southeastern corner of Rockingham County. Also housed in the building is one Head Start classroom.

There are approximately 501 students in grades kindergarten through fifth. In addition, there is one pre-school classroom funded by Rockingham County Schools. As a Title I school, Williamsburg receives additional federal funds to provide extra instructional support for the students. This funding makes it possible to reduce class size in many of the grade levels which helps the students receive more individualized assistance. When the new building opened in 2003, personnel from many different schools came together to form the new Williamsburg School. These dedicated, well-qualified individuals work together to provide a stable learning environment for the children of Williamsburg School.

Good evening, Williamsburg families! This is Principal Ziglar with your weekly updates.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month so we will be doing lots of different things at Williamsburg to support kindness and friendship skills. This week is Red Ribbon Week and we hope all of our students will participate in our dress up days:

Monday: Wear Red

Tuesday: Dress like your favorite decade

Wednesday: Wear your western wear

Thursday: Wear tie dye

Friday: Pajama day

Remember, all outfits must still meet dress code.

The Rockingham County Mobile Dental Unit is at Williamsburg, so if you completed paper work for that earlier in the year, your student will most likely make a visit to the dental unit soon.

Tuesday: Report Cards will be sent home. Please take time to review your child’s grades and attendance.

Tuesday: PTA Skate Night at Roll-A-Bout in Eden.

👥 Volunteers & Field Trip Chaperones
If you plan to volunteer or chaperone a field trip, you will need to complete a background check. We encourage you to complete this now. Background checks are valid for two years and cover all students at Williamsburg. The background check link has been shared on Dojo and is also available on our website. Background checks must be from RCS, not outside organizations.

If you plan to chaperone a field trip, you must also attend Chaperone Training.

🚗 Arrival & Dismissal Updates
Our doors open at 7:20 a.m. for student drop-off, and school begins at 7:45 a.m. If you arrive after 7:45, you will need to come inside and sign your student in.

If you're looking for the sweet spot for morning arrival, 7:25 a.m. is it! The line is almost non-existent around that time. Remember, if everyone arrives at 7:40, we are going to have tardy students.

Please continue to help us keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient:

Whenever possible, please have your student enter and exit the vehicle from the sidewalk side.
Please have your child ready to exit the vehicle when you arrive in the morning.
Do not park in the parking lot to walk your student across the cross-walk. Students should be dropped off in the car rider line.
Do not pass vehicles in the drop-off line unless directed to do so by a staff member.
Please maintain a safe, slow speed while on campus.
Afternoon student checkouts end at 2:15 p.m.
Please do not double-line until you have turned into the upper parking lot. Double-lining near the highway creates a safety concern for vehicles using the left-turn lane to exit the school.
If you need to buckle your student or adjust their seating arrangement, please pull into a parking space rather than stopping in the car rider line.
Please make sure your car rider tag is clearly displayed when picking up your student.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to keep our students and staff safe during arrival and dismissal.

🚌 Bus Riders
Parents, please make sure you are at the bus stop with your student in the morning and waiting at the stop for your student in the afternoon.
