🌱 🩵Learning was in full bloom in Mrs. Zapalac’s classroom! 🩵🌱
From floral design labs and welding sparks to animal science activities and woodworking projects, our students rolled up their sleeves and learned by doing every single day. It’s been amazing watching creativity grow, skills develop, and confidence shine throughout the year.

📸 Yearbook’s end-of-the-year project gave students the chance to step behind the camera and capture “senior-style” photos of one another — and they did an amazing job!
Here are just a few of our awesome RJHS Longhorns photographed by their talented peers. We love seeing their creativity, confidence, and school spirit shine through each picture! 🤍🖤❤️

🔬🐸 7th-grade science students had a great day in the lab learning through frog dissections!
Students were able to get a hands-on look at organ systems and see how the body structures work together. Lots of curiosity, teamwork, and great discussions took place throughout the lesson.
Thank you to our science teachers for creating engaging learning experiences for our students!

Reading Junior High families and staff,
We invite our school community to join us in honoring the life and memory of Cristiano Osorio on Friday, May 15, 2026.
In recognition of Cristiano’s love for sports, students and staff are welcome to wear their favorite Astros, Texans, or Rockets jersey tomorrow, Friday, May 15. If Cristiano’s friends participate in other sports, they may also choose to wear gear representing their team. Participation is completely optional; this is simply a meaningful way to celebrate something Cristiano loved.
For those who would like additional information, you may view Cristiano’s obituary and service details here:
https://www.epcompean.com/obituaries/cristiano-osorio
We would also like to share the following message from Cristiano’s family:
If you knew Cristiano, you loved him and he loved you. He filled his family with pride every day through his kindness and compassion toward everyone around him. He had a way of making people feel seen and loved instantly.
Cristiano showed us what it means to love, to be strong, and to be brave. When life gets hard, think of how he rose each day with resilience despite his challenges.
Honor him by loving like he loved, caring as he cared, and leading with kindness and respect. Most importantly, never give up.
We continue to keep Cristiano’s family and loved ones in our thoughts as we come together as a school community.

A lunch was provided for our incredible RJHS paraprofessionals as a small token of appreciation, but it could never fully reflect all they do for our students and staff each day.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, kindness, and willingness to step in wherever needed. The support, encouragement, and care you give make a lasting difference at Reading Junior High.
We appreciate you more than words can say! ❤️🖤🤍

Congratulations seniors! We are so proud of all you have accomplished and thankful we got to be a small part of your journey. It was great seeing former students walk our halls again as they celebrate this special milestone.

A huge thank you to Principal Little for grilling hamburgers and providing all the fixings for our staff today! 🍔 We truly appreciate your kindness, generosity, and support during Teacher Appreciation Week. The food was amazing, and the thought behind it meant even more. Thank you for taking care of us and making today special!
