Riviera Beach's K-9s Among Top Dogs!
Treasure Coast Police K-9 Alliance hosted the 2026 Treasure Coast Police K-9 Competition in Sebastian and two K-9s placed second and third in two categories.
K-9 Vox placed second in the in the Obstacle Course Competition with handler Ben Smith. K-9 Shadow placed third in the Hard Fast Dog Event with handler James Aldolph.
Over 20 police K-9 teams from throughout Florida participated in June 6 competition at Sebastian River High School.

Officer Recognized for Efforts in Making City of Riviera Beach Streets Safer
Officer Jeffrey Barker received the Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. Enforcement Award at the 40th Annual Traffic Safety Awards Ceremony Thursday.
Barker was recognized for his exceptional dedication and proactive efforts within the Riviera Beach Police Department. In the past quarter of 2026, he issued 493 citations and made significant arrests, directly contributing to an overall 17 percent reduction of crashes during the same time last year.

Join the Riviera Beach Police Department as we welcome the newest addition to our Marine Unit at 9 a.m. Tuesday June 16 at Riviera Beach Marine Village.
The boat is 28-foot-long Relentless, powered by twin Mercury 350 Verado outboard engines. It has a number of design features that incorporate functionality and safety. It was manufactured by Metal Shark in Franklin, LA., a leading manufacturer of boats for law enforcement, fire and the military.

Singer Island Re-Entry Permit distribution TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY:
For residents and business owners that printed and completed the online application. Forms will also be available to complete on site. If you already emailed the form in, you must pickup the permit at the police department, at 2051 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. during normal business hours.
Hurricane Evacuation Re-entry Permit Pickup Locations:
9-11 a.m. Tuesday May 26
The Ritz-Carlton Residences
2700 N. Ocean Dr., Riviera Beach
10-11 a.m. Wednesday May 27
Water Glades Condos
5544 N. Ocean Blvd., Riviera Beach
If you were already issued a placard last year, they are still valid for the 2026 hurricane season so you do not need to re-apply.
