🎬 From MC to the big screen! Meet alumna Alyscia Cunningham ’02 ’11!

Award-winning documentary and horror filmmaker Alyscia Cunningham is bringing Trinidadian folklore to life in her debut feature film, Douen, premiering November 1 at AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center! 🎥 Filmed throughout Montgomery County, the horror film weaves cultural storytelling with Alyscia’s passion for creating impactful narratives.

We’re proud to celebrate Montgomery College's role in Alyscia’s journey. She earned an AAS in photography in 2002 and returned to MC in 2011 to earn an AAS in web design. She also took noncredit courses in film and screenwriting to hone her craft and published two books through independent study courses.

💬 “MC was the vehicle that led me to where I am today, and I can’t be more thankful. My daughter is a current student as well.”
