An update from the Assessor and Treasurer offices.

We need to replace the shared software application used by the Assessor and Treasurer offices, as it is nearing its end of life. The current software program is Harris/Computer Arts. This will result in overlapping software subscription costs for a period. The Assessor successfully negotiated with Aumentum to reduce the initial software setup and conversion cost from $206,271.00 to $139,910.13. The annual fee of $62,589.00 will be divided between the two offices. This new program will come with a public access feature where you will be able to access parcel, valuation, and tax information. We look forward to assisting you during our regular business hours.

From Fremont County Clerk:

Recently I attended the IAC Annual Conference from September 21–23, 2026. Though attendance is not required, I am grateful for the opportunity to participate as the training proved highly valuable. I gained new insights on key issues. Classes I attended included: Commissioners’ & Other Elected’s Responsibilities, Leadership Best Practices, and the County Budget Process 101. I participated in a Roundtable discussion with Counties of similar populations where relatable problems were discussed. I met with Idaho Clerk’s, receiving guidance and insight into existing challenges. The cost to the County Clerk’s Department for me to attend was $295 for conference registration, $546 for three nights lodging, 3 dinners not covered/provided by the conference, and fuel (divided between the Assessor, Treasurer, and Clerk’s departments).

Thank you!

⚠️ SCAM ALERT: False “IRS Form 1098-SR” Property Tax Claims

Recently the Treasurer’s office was asked about IRS form 1098-SR. This form was said to have been approved by Congress and would freeze or cap senior citizens property taxes. This is a false claim and a scam circulating on social media and online videos. Property taxes are handled strictly at the local and state levels, not by the federal government or the IRS.

We ask that everyone be mindful and never fill out or submit personal, financial, or property information to any website or video claiming to process a 1098-SR.

For information about legitimate property tax relief or exemptions, contact your county assessor's office.
