A recognition that is very well-deserved! Thank you, Alaina!

Congratulations to Alaina Ruvoldt — A True School & Community Hero

St. Marys Memorial High School is incredibly proud to recognize Alaina Ruvoldt, a senior at Memorial who also attends Tri Star Career Compact in the Med Prep program, for her exceptional courage and life-saving actions on Friday, October 23, 2026.

During the St. Marys vs. Elida football game, Alaina performed the Heimlich maneuver on an Elida High School student who was choking. Her quick thinking, courage, and willingness to act in a critical moment helped save a life. Her actions are a powerful reminder that one person’s knowledge and willingness to step forward can make an extraordinary difference.

In recognition of her heroic actions, the St. Marys Fire Department and the City of St. Marys presented Alaina with the Community Hero Award, honoring her bravery and selflessness.

Alaina, we are proud of not only what you did that evening, but also the outstanding student and person you are. Your actions exemplify courage, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping others. You have made our school and community proud!

Congratulations, Alaina, on this well-deserved recognition! Thank you for making a life-changing difference.

Did you know today is National Coffee ☕ with a Cop Day?

As soon as we were aware, we knew we had to grab a coffee for our SRO! Thank you officer Koenig for all you do for our school, even if you don't actually like coffee. :)

Have a great day and maybe buy a coffee for a police officer near you!
