This is the Official STEM Academy North East ISD page.

The purpose of the STEM Academy is to increase student achievement by engaging and exposing students to innovative STEM instruction while simultaneously acting as demonstration sites for math and science teaching and learning statewide.

Guess who loves writing Argument essays?!

STEM JUNIORS!!

As an intro to argument, students worked together to build a body paragraph in a strict 2-chunk format.

It’s not as easy as it looks because they have to be able to verbalize their thoughts to the group and work together to build one cohesive paragraph.

This morning we had the honor of celebrating National Merit Commended Scholars and National Merit Semi-finalists across the district. Pictured below are all of the LEE, NESA, STEM, ISA students who were recognized for this achievement.

Our STEM students are Nathan Adelstein, Martin Kazala, Rodolfo Lopez, Naomi Trest and Nathan Peterson. Your hard work has defintely paid off, and has placed you in the spotlight of top-performing students nationwide. We couldn't be more proud of you!

STEM Academy - North East ISD Introduction to Biomedical Science students recently did a Sheep eye dissection to learn the parts of the eye, the connection to the nervous system, and how the eyes work!

STEM Academy - North East ISD SOS students spent last Saturday night serving their community with the organization Taking it to the Streets to provide food and goodie bags to around 150 persons experiencing homelessness.

STEM Academy - North East ISD 8th graders are bringing their Integrated Physics and Chemistry measurement project to a close. Students had to measure and cut wood to fit the cardboard insert using only measurements! Not an easy task but these students were up to the challenge!

This past weekend our middle school STEM Academy - North East ISD Academic UIL team competed against schools like Lopez and Tejeda using their brains for good and bringing home plenty of ribbons and medals. Congratulations to all that competed! Thank you to all of the parents for supporting our event!

Today, at the high school we celebrated how awesome we are at our 1st Quarter Rally.

Layla Boyd and Alexandra Danvers planned and enacted the whole affair where Emerson Eaton and David Garcia acted as emcees and kept the show rolling.

We recognized our Core Value Award winners and had a little fun.

Ms. Muire explained the wonderful world of FISKE and we danced a little.

If you walk into the STEM office, chances are the first friendly face you see is our administrative assistant, Mrs. Yvonne Sarabia!

A 27-year NEISD veteran, Mrs. Sarabia joined the STEM team in 2023 and has been an incredible support to our director, teachers, and students ever since. From getting substitute teachers prepped every morning to keeping our office operations on track, she works tirelessly to make sure our staff and students have everything they need to succeed.

Thank you, Mrs. Sarabia, for your hard work, dedication, and the positivity you bring to STEM every day!
