This past week our STEM Academy - North East ISD 8th graders presented their Atlantis PBL projects. Students were challenged to design and build a sustainable city in and/or above the ocean. Students studied ecosystems, government and international law, population growth and more. One group even reached out to the office of Alexander Cole Hamilton, the Party Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats to gain permission to build their city off the coast of the British Isle and were granted permission!! We are so proud of all the hard work these students put into their project. 🎬 From the Stage to the Screen!
Today, our 8th Grade GT English students traded their pens for premieres at our 2nd Annual Film Festival!🍿✨
The assignment? Reimagining the magic, betrayal, and storms of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.” From modern-day shipwrecks to high-stakes drama, these students brought a fresh, cinematic lens to the Bard’s classic work.
We are so proud of their creativity, teamwork, and technical skills. It’s safe to say the "stuff that dreams are made on" is alive and well in our classrooms! 🎭📹

Our Nimitz Middle School - North East ISD and STEM Academy - North East ISD NJHS students spring service project involved making Easter “baskets” for each teacher on campus. Students got to personalize the baskets for each CB teacher and deliver them to the teachers. The eggs of course included candy but also a chance to take home a gift card! Last week our STEM Academy - North East ISD 8th graders kicked off their spring PBL. They visited Yanaguana Gardens and the Hostoric Pearl to discuss city planning, understand urban green spaces and how they connect our community to the city itself both old and new. Back on campus students competed in a series of structural engineering challenges looking at strength and length. Being able to build up as well as away from a structure to start incorporating ideas into their sustainable cities.
