ACS Hill Country had a great day at The Bandera Natural History Museum today! We learned so many new things and got a great guided tour. Thank you, Bandera Natural History Museum

It takes so much strength to move through a world that isn’t built to automatically include you. Khara is often the first — the first blind student in her school, the first blind runner her coach has had, the first to step into spaces that weren’t expecting her. And still, she shows up. She’s worked incredibly hard to learn how to navigate her school independently and be part of everything she wants to experience in school. Inclusion and awareness start with understanding — with someone being willing to learn how to support a child with a disability. We are truly grateful for the people who have been open to learning how to teach and support Khara. Everyone deserves to feel accepted and to be shown love and kindness. Because we’ve seen too many stories of children with disabilities being left out —the exclusion of a child with Autism from attending a school trip and a child with Down Syndrome being expelled from dance class because she couldn’t keep up — this matters even more. There are kids who aren’t invited to birthday parties, who want to be part of a team but aren’t chosen because winning is prioritized over inclusion. Kids with disabilities aren’t “other.” They just want what everyone wants: to be accepted and included. Khara shows every day that she is capable and able to succeed like any other student. New @att ad with a girl named Remi who has CP. She uses eye gaze to play music with a symphony. What got me is how normal it feels. She's not being sung to, she's not being celebrated for showing up. She's just in the band. But she's only in the band because the tools exist. The eye gaze. A symphony that made room. That's the whole thing. Some kids need eye gaze. Some kids need a diaper that fits. It's all just stuff that gets our kids into the room. Thanks to @hopeforhie for sharing this one.

This Monday, We had a great day at ACS!! We participated in a visit to Wildseed Farms in FBG, & a fun watercolor session with a great local artist, …
**And, several other activities (having so much fun we didn’t snap pics)…, such as a Painting sesh, Bingo games, and a visit to our Recreation Center kept us busy all day!! Always fun at ACS!!

Fritztown Farms in Fredericksburg was an awesome experience today!! With donkeys, goats, sheep, horses, rabbits, pigs, ducks, geese, turkeys, and a beautiful day, what more could we ask? So much fun!

Our superstar, Preston, ran the Peterson Health 5K on Saturday! He received 2nd place in his age category! Preston ACS is so proud of you!

We love upcycling! A fun project ACS Hill Country completed this week was making 2 bulletin boards out of old frames, wine corks and cardboard! What a great craft for us!

2025 was a great year. Making memories and revisiting old ones! 2026 is shaping up to be even better. Love our ACS family♥️💙💜💛💚 #
