Sammy was rescued from the streets by a friend when he was in very poor condition. He was a geriatric dog, sick, tired, and completely vulnerable. He surely wouldn't have survived much longer out there.
Today, seeing him calm, recovered, and even smiling reminds us of something very important: rescuing changes lives. Not only are their health restored, but also their dignity, safety, and the right to live without suffering.
But we also want to be clear about something: rescue isn't everything. Yes, it's necessary. Many times it's the only thing that can save their lives at that moment. But what we truly wish for is not to have to rescue any more animals in these conditions.
We wish for less abandonment, less indifference, and more responsibility. We wish for real public policies, sterilization, and prevention so that no dog has to reach the point where Sammy did.
Until that happens, we will continue doing everything we can for them. Because their lives matter ❤️
