We build homes & sustain homeownership opportunities for families in SF, Marin, and San Mateo. Social Media Community Commenting Policy:

Habitat never gives homes away. When a family applies for one of our homes they must undergo an extensive application process. Our main requirement is that families earn between 40% and 80% of the median income in that county. Once approved the family begins to complete their 500 hours of sweat equity, our version of a downpayment. They complete this onsite, swinging hammers right next to the othe

A home is more than four walls—it’s a place to put down roots and build community. 🏡

A 2-bedroom, 1-bath mobile home is now available for purchase in Novato’s gated Los Robles Mobile Home Park, a vibrant 55+ community. This home features an open-concept layout, a full Samsung kitchen, a large, covered deck, and more, offering both comfort and convenience in a desirable Novato location.

Because this home is located within a community with specific residency requirements, it is being offered outside of our traditional Affordable Homeownership Program and is available for purchase at $262,000.

More stability. More opportunity. More impact. Who's with us?! 📣

It’s not too late to tell the state’s decision-makers to save the only state program dedicated to building and preserving affordable homes for ownership. Now is the time to make our voices heard. ‼️The clock is running out. ⏳

The Governor’s revised budget proposal has been released, and for the third year in a row, it includes NO FUNDING for CalHome, California’s only state program dedicated to building and preserving affordable homes for ownership.

That means fewer families will have access to the stability, equity, and long-term opportunity that homeownership can provide.

This is disappointing, but the fight is not over.

California's 2026–27 budget is being finalized right now, and this is our last opportunity to make sure state leaders hear from Californians who believe affordable homeownership must be part of the solution to our housing crisis.

Make sure where you live is represented. Make sure your voice is heard.

🏠 Take action today — it takes less than 60 seconds! https://takeaction.io/habitatca/build-brighter-futures-for-califonians-fund-calhome/

"When housing works, nearly everything else gets better - including health, education, economic mobility, and civic life.”

Thank you to Jay Carney, Airbnb’s Global Head of Policy and Communications, for sharing these powerful words during Framing the Future 2026: Neighborhoods of Abundance. We’re incredibly grateful to Airbnb for joining us as the presenting sponsor of our gala this year and for supporting our mission of creating more affordable homeownership opportunities across the Bay Area.

At Habitat Greater San Francisco, we believe that expanding access to homeownership requires collaboration, bold ideas, and long-term investment in our communities. That’s why we’re especially proud to partner with organizations like Airbnb that have made a commitment to addressing the root causes of housing affordability by supporting new housing supply and community-driven solutions nationwide.

Thank you for helping us build more neighborhoods of abundance for generations to come. 🏡

A quick postcard from our Bolinas site, where we’ve officially broken ground alongside our partners at . Years of work and patience to get here. And we’re so excited to see it come to life. Right now: excavators and shoring up walls. Foundations next. Four units up top. Four out front with ground-floor retail. All affordable. All downtown. When done, this site will transform into eight families calling Bolinas home. Folks walking to work. Kids walking to school.
Together, we’re building new foundations.
