NATIONAL PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE BACK DAY
The Sanbornton Police Department Teams with the Drug Enforcement Administration for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Sanbornton – On Saturday, October 24th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Sanbornton Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at locations across the country. DEA and its partners will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs.

For more than a decade, the event has helped Americans easily rid their homes of unneeded medications—those that are old, unwanted, or expired—that too often become a gateway to addiction.

Take Back Day offers free and anonymous disposal of unneeded medications at close to 5,000 local drop-off locations nationwide.

What: National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
When: Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Who: Sanbornton Police Department
Where: 573 Sanborn Road Sanbornton, NH 03269

In partnership with local law enforcement, Take Back Day has removed 8,950 tons of medication from circulation since its inception.

Collection sites will not accept syringes, sharps, and illicit drugs. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container. The cap must be tightly sealed to prevent leakage.

A message from Chief Stephen Hankard:

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all of my friends, family, colleagues, and the citizens of Sanbornton who came to my retirement luncheon on Friday. I was truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of support.

I am extremely proud to be a part of this great community for the last 30 years. I am also proud to be able to swear Lieutenant Kevin McIntosh in as the next Chief of this great department, at this week's Board of Selectmen's Meeting (Wednesday at 5 pm, Old Town Hall).

I would also like to thank Steele Hill Resort for providing the venue and beverages. Also, special thanks to my wife, Sue, and administrative assistant, Cal, for all their work to make the event happen!
