Happy Sunday from lakes Sahoma and Pretty Water!
End of October Fishing Update: The bass are biting! Successful lures/baits have been minnows, crappie jigs, soft plastic baby shads, and worms. The water temp is currently 61° with water visibility standing between clear and stained. Fall is in full swing with cooler mornings and evenings, and the fish are becoming more active -- perfect conditions for bank or boat fishing!
Citywide fishing permits -- in addition to state licenses -- are required to fish both lakes, with exceptions for seniors and those with disability who can fish Lake Sahoma for free. Permits are available at the Lake Sahoma Bait Shop along with minnows, worms, light tackle, drinks and snacks. As always, kids 8 and under fish for free!
While you visit our beautiful lakes, please remember to keep our waterways clean and dispose of any trash in the designated dumpsters.
This largemouth was caught just this morning, right under our covered dock — right as the shop was opening up by Tom Roininen! He was fishing for crappie and landed this bass on 4lb test line rigged with a 1/64th oz jig head and a crappie soft plastic baby shad! He thinks this one is his PB, woohooo! 🥳 Happy Fishing!!
