Happy Halloween from Sauk Rapids PD! We hope everyone has a great Halloween but we also want everyone to be safe. Enjoy yourselves but make sure you are being smart about it.

Also, if you have a fun Halloween party to attend tonight that includes consuming alcoholic beverages. Please make sure you have a sober ride home. There is plenty of options to make sure you get home safely. Putting peoples lives at risk is never acceptable.

Be safe and have a great Halloween!

Today is national first responder day.

We would like to take a moment to thank all first responders! Thank you for continuing to show up every single day to serve your community. It is not always easy but we show up anyways and will always answer the call. Every single first responder has a significant role when a call comes into 911. Every single person that chooses to answer the call and show up makes a difference everyday.

Special thank you to Sauk Rapids Fire Department, Benton County Dispatch & Deputies, and Mayo ambulance for your dedicated service. We work along side them every single day and we are very grateful for their partnership when responding to emergencies.

EVERY single first responder matters and plays a role in the emergency you may have to call in one day. Please remember that on the days you may have something bad to say. Every first responder will have some kind of story to tell when it comes to saving someone’s life or seeing something they will never be able forget. Or even just making a small difference in someone’s day. It matters.

No matter what you feel about us, we can promise you, your call will always be answered and we will show up. Every single day, no matter what. We will be there for you.

Thank a first responder today if you can. They do more than most people even realize.

On Tuesday October 13th the newest Sauk Rapids Police Officer was sworn in. Officer Polinder has completed his 16 week FTO period and will now start his journey as a police officer. We are happy to have Officer Polinder as an addition to our department, he is just as excited to be serving our great community. If you see him out and about send a smile his way and show him what great citizens we have!

We just wanted to share that Sauk Rapids Police Officers assisted with getting a cow back to its owner for the 2nd time earlier today. We don't have a lot of interactions with those kinds of animals in the city. We are going to become just as good as the deputies with wrangling cows at this rate. (However- we did have help from a deputy today as well...)

We are glad the calf is safe with its owner and nobody got hurt! He led us on quite the adventure today and did not want to be caught.

Have a great rest of your Saturday.

Just a reminder that this event is taking place tomorrow. We stand together and are stronger together. We are grateful that this is taking place in our community as we know Domestic Violence is a very serious issue. We stand with you all and are always here to support those in need.

Have a good day.

Good morning,

Please see the flyer before for Central Minnesota Take Back the night gathering and candlelight vigil.

We are glad we are able to provide a space in our community for this event to take place. It is an evening dedicated to raising awareness, coming together as a community, and standing with the victims/survivors of violence.

We stand together and are grateful for the partnership.
