In the Catholic tradition and the spirit of our patron, St. The Kitchen provides a free, hot, nutritious meal every day of the year.

Francis of Assisi, the hungry are fed in collaboration with volunteers and donors from all faith communities. Serving a hot and nutritious lunch 7 days a week, every day of the year. Dinner is served Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Feast on the streets will once again take place at the corner of Penn and Olive beginning at 5:30 pm today.

Many thanks to the wonderful crew from Empower who spent the day serving at St. Francis! From helping in the Kitchen to assisting in our Client Choice Food Pantry and Free Clothing Store, you jumped in wherever you were needed and made a difference in so many ways.

As the weather is changing and the nights grow colder, the need for warm clothing increases for the people we serve. St Francis is in need of warm weather clothing donations to help ensure that no one in our community has to face the colder months without the essentials they need to stay warm

Friends of Saint francis kitchen,

I hope that you are in a better late than never kind of mood. This was a really nice reflection posted by St. Stanislaus. Thank you, friends.

Today, October 4, we remember Saint Francis of Assisi and his example of loving God, caring for creation, and serving our neighbors.

We can follow that example in simple ways: take a walk and give thanks for the beauty around us, show kindness to an animal, or share what we have with someone who could use a little support.

May we bring a little more peace and compassion into the world today.

Thank you to the amazing associates from Fidelity Bank who spent part of their day with us at St. Francis! You truly did it all today from rolling up your sleeves in our freezer, to preparing and serving the lunchtime meal, helping in our Clothing Operation, and assisting our shoppers in our Client Choice Food Pantry.
Your willingness to jump in wherever you were needed made such a difference. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our mission.

We’re Looking for a Trailer Driver!

St. Francis of Assisi is looking for a dependable and caring individual to help drive our Free Mobile Clothing Trailer a few days each month. Our trailer is 22 feet long - No CDL or special license is required to drive our trailer with our pickup truck. Our stops are located in Lackawanna & Luzerne County. This is a wonderful opportunity to help bring free clothing directly to individuals and families in our local community.
