Mrs. Heisterberg’s second graders at Heber Hunt Elementary sent a little love to Sedalia alum and Los Angeles Rams kicker Blake Grupe!

Students made get well cards for Blake and were so excited to hear that he would actually get to see their messages! Such a sweet way to show some Tiger support!

Miss Burton’s class at Elementary has started using their new “Wonder Wall”!
First graders have been practicing asking questions while they read. During Stellaluna, they stopped to write down something they were wondering about and added it to their Wonder Buddy!
We love seeing what our little readers are curious about!

Mrs. Klein’s class at Heber Hunt Elementary has been learning all about pumpkins this week!
Students busted open a pumpkin to investigate what was inside! They made predictions about its weight, height, number of seeds, and whether the shell would sink or float. Then, they put their predictions to the test!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the annual Smith-Cotton HS JROTC Veterans Day Breakfast & Ceremony, and the Veterans Day Parade, on Nov. 11. That will be an early-out day for Sedalia 200 schools. See the graphics for details.

Team Roar students at Sedalia Middle School are already making great progress on their builds!
They're just a few days in, but students have been busy working together and bringing their ideas to life.

Members of Smith-Cotton FCCLA hosted a Powderpuff Tournament on Tuesday night. Jacquline Kabler, Shaelyn Reed, and Stefanie Salas are entering a STAR event competition for Event Management, so they made the plans, found staff to help, and much more. Other members volunteered for set up, clean up, concessions, and photography.
FCCLA Advisor Ms. Gooch said, "Special thanks to our announcer Mr. Young and our referee Coach Franklin. We even had an excellent half time Cheer performance with help from the Varsity Cheer team and assistant coaches. We hope all the players and spectators had a blast."

We have a lot going on this week and want to ensure you all are aware of the events and changes in schedules:

-- Parent-Teacher Conferences are Wednesday and Thursday. Check for messages from your student’s teachers and/or school about specific times.
-- The district is on the Early Out Schedule on Thursday. K-12 schools will release two hours earlier than usual. No students at Loftus Early Childhood Center.
-- No school on Friday. The district Central Office also will be closed on Friday.
-- Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri also is closed on Friday for staff training.
