🔥🍳 Saturday Safety with Seminole Fire Rescue!

This week, we’re sharing important kitchen safety tips to help keep you and your family safe while cooking!

👀 Stay focused! Always keep an eye on what you’re cooking, especially when using the stovetop. If you need to step away, turn off the burner.

🧒🐾 Create a kid - and pet-free zone! Keep children and pets at least 3 feet away from the stove while cooking to help prevent burns and other kitchen injuries.

🍳 Turn pot handles inward! Keep them away from the edge of the stove to help prevent accidental spills and burns.

🚫 Keep flammable items away! Towels, oven mitts, paper products, and other items should be kept away from the stovetop.

🚨 Know what to do! Never use water on a grease fire. If it’s safe, turn off the heat and cover the pan with a lid. Never move the pan. If the fire spreads, get out and call 911.

Remember: If you’re cooking, keep looking! 👀

We had a great time welcoming the students of Bauder Elementary to City Hall for Florida City Week! Our crew showed the students our fire truck and equipment, while our Life Safety Division provided an educational presentation. It was a great opportunity to connect with our community, teach fire safety, and show the next generation a little about what we do!🚒🔥

👻✨ Saturday Safety with Seminole Fire Rescue!

This week, we’re sharing important tips to help everyone BE SEEN, BE SAFE while trick-or-treating!

🌟 Light up the night! Wear glow sticks, carry a flashlight, or add reflective tape to costumes and treat bags to help others see you.

👀 Keep your vision clear! Make sure masks, hats, and costumes don’t cover your eyes or block your view.

🚸 Use crosswalks, look both ways, and stay alert when crossing the road. Always walk on sidewalks when available.

🚗 Drivers, do your part! Slow down in residential neighborhoods, stay alert for children crossing the street, and eliminate distractions. Be especially cautious around driveways, intersections, and parked cars.

👫Stick together! Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult, and everyone should stay with their group while trick-or-treating.

Have fun, stay visible, and remember to BE SEEN, BE SAFE! ✨👻

🔥 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK — DAY 7 🔥

When charging on a plane, keep portable charging devices on the tray table. Do not charge devices in overhead compartments and never charge e-cigarettes or vapes on a plane. If a battery overheats or fails, it is important for the flight crew to be able to respond quickly.
