A sincere thank you to Broadway Baptist Church for inviting us to participate in their second annual Embracing Orphan Care event on Saturday.

The event brought together several organizations from across the community, all united by a shared commitment to supporting children and families impacted by foster care. Attendees were encouraged by the powerful story of a young man who was adopted from foster care and later became a foster and adoptive parent himself. Foster and adoptive families also shared their personal experiences, offering insight, hope, and encouragement to those interested in learning more about foster care.

A special thank you to Ms. Terrie and the dedicated volunteers who worked hard to organize this meaningful event and raise funds to provide breakfast and lunch for everyone in attendance.

Foster care may not be chic, but answering the call in your heart to become a foster parent will never go out of style.

Truthfully, foster care isn't always easy, picture-perfect, or convenient. But sometimes the most meaningful things in life aren't.

There are children who need someone willing to say, “Yes, I’ll be there.” Someone who can offer a safe place, a steady presence, and the reminder that they are seen, valued, and loved.

You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to be perfect. You just have to be willing to open your heart and take the first step.
