DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS NOVEMBER 1ST!

A friendly reminder from the Shorewood Police Department.

Sunday, November 1, 2026, Daylight Saving Time comes to an end, and we officially “Fall Back” one hour!

That means an extra hour of sleep, but also earlier sunsets and darker evening commutes!
As we prepare for the time change, please remember to:
⏰ Set your clocks back one hour.
🔋 Check your smoke alarms and home safety devices.
đźš— Use extra caution during darker evening commutes and watch for pedestrians and cyclists.

Let's stay safe, enjoy the extra hour of rest, and welcome the fall season.

National First Responders Day

The Shorewood Police Department and the Village of Shorewood proudly honor its dedicated professionals who keep our community safe on the front lines. From our police officers, public works personnel, firefighters, paramedics, and 911 dispatchers, first responders selflessly answer the call during times of crisis and in our everyday roles.

Recognizing that public works professionals stand alongside our emergency services to maintain critical infrastructure during natural disasters and daily emergencies, we thank every individual who works tirelessly behind the scenes and on the streets for Shorewood. Serving as a national day of gratitude, we pay tribute to the endless hours and around the clock service first responders provide to our community.

Please join us in celebrating our first responders and recognizing the vital role they play in protecting our health, safety, and quality of life.

⚾️💙💛 Hey Brewers Fans... Let's Celebrate Like Champions! 💛💙⚾️

Whether you're cheering from the stands, your favorite local spot, or a backyard with friends, we want everyone to enjoy Brewers baseball and make it home safely.

A big win is worth celebrating. A DUI, crash, or injury is not.

âś… Designate a sober driver before the first pitch
âś… Use a rideshare, taxi, or public transportation if you've been drinking
âś… Take the keys from a friend who shouldn't be driving
âś… Keep an eye on your teammates and help them make safe choices
âś… Buckle up and stay focused on the road

Let's show everyone that Brewers fans know how to celebrate responsibly and look out for one another.

Have fun, be safe, and as always, we're here to help keep Shorewood a great place to live, work, and cheer on the Crew!

The Shorewood Police Department will be hosting a Drug Take Back Event at Police Headquarters (4057 N Wilson Drive) on Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Bring: Prescription (controlled and non-controlled) and over-the-counter medications, ointments, inhalers, patches, non-aerosol sprays, creams, v**e cartridges and devices (with batteries removed), vials and pet medications.

Do Not Bring: Illegal drugs, needles/sharps, mercury thermometers, aerosol cans, biohazardous materials (anything containing a bodily fluid or blood), flares, personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens, etc...), household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, chemicals, oil, or gas), acids or any v**e devices containing batteries of any kind.

Participants may dispose of solid, non-liquid medication(s) by keeping them in the plastic pill bottle or removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into a disposal box or into a clear sealable plastic bag. It is recommended that recycling bins are provided at the collection sites for disposal of such containers. If turning over in the plastic pill bottle, individuals should be encouraged to remove any identifying information from the prescription label. Blister packages are acceptable without the medications being removed.

Liquids will be accepted during this initiative. However, the liquids, creams and sprays must be in their original packaging and evenly distributed within the boxes of collected.

Shorewood Police Department Special Notice: Changes to Village Code Chapter 207

On Monday, October 19, 2026, the Board adopted changes to Village Code Chapter 207. The changes most notably define e-bikes and motor bicycles and regulate their operation on Village streets, sidewalks, and pedestrian paths. With limited enumerated exceptions, e-bikes and motor bicycles are strictly prohibited from operating on Village sidewalks and designated pedestrian paths. Motor bicycles are prohibited from being operated on Village streets unless the operator holds a valid driver’s license. High-power e-motos and off-highway motorcycles that exceed standard bicycle criteria remain unlawful for use on all public roadways, streets, sidewalks, and multi-use paths within the Village of Shorewood. When bicycles are operated on sidewalks, riders are legally required to exercise due care, yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, and provide an audible signal prior to passing.

The Shorewood Police Department is dedicated to protecting all who share our corridors. We encourage all residents, bicyclists, and motorists to familiarize themselves with these standards to ensure safe, lawful mobility throughout our community.

Our vehicles can become easy targets if we accidentally leave the door unlocked, keys in the cup holder, or valuables sitting in plain sight.

Preventing auto theft is a true partnership between our department and the community we serve. Taking just a few seconds to double-check that your car is locked, your windows are up, your valuables are out of sight, and your keys are inside with you makes a tremendous difference.

Let's work together to keep our neighborhoods safe and give opportunistic thieves nothing to work with. Park under the lights, take your keys, lock your doors, and help us protect Shorewood.

If you see something suspicious, please call the non-emergency number at 414.351.9900.
