It was an exciting day at Snoqualmie Elementary as Congresswoman Kim Schrier visited the school to spend time with students and staff. During her visit, she toured classrooms, talked with students about the importance of voting, and shared more about her work representing approximately 770,000 people in Washington’s 8th Congressional District.

Staff from our district team and School Board members joined the visit as Congresswoman Schrier stopped in three different classrooms to connect with students and to see learning in action.

Thank you, Congresswoman Schrier, for taking the time to visit Snoqualmie!

🎨 Bringing Color and Creativity to Opstad Elementary! If you've visited Opstad Elementary recently, you may have noticed some big changes to the parking lot!

Over the summer, we worked to create a designated bus lane, add parking spots, and improve the traffic flow for student pickup and drop-off. While the project is nearly complete, some of the new sidewalks and walking paths came with a few plain gray concrete barriers.

We're excited to be working with artist and muralist Kailey Geary to transform these barriers into colorful works of art that will brighten the daily walk to and from school for students and families.

With more than eight years of experience, Kailey specializes in vibrant, large-scale artwork inspired by nature. Her background in environmental design and passion for art education make her a wonderful fit for this project.

Thank you, Kailey, for helping bring a little more color and joy to Opstad Elementary! 📸 Here's a sneak peek at her work in progress! We'll share more photos once the murals are complete.
