Finished up our 3rd week at Vaughan Woods! We found a fallen birch tree and cut the bark off to make banners! The children decorated and then used the little hand drill and auger to poke the holes and then threaded a yarn needle to pull the twine through…lots of fine motor! We found a fallen old tree and turned it into our canoe.

“It doesn’t matter what is greater, it matters about friendship!” Sums up a mixed age Forest classroom. Each child meeting their own skill level. We made a “fire” and roasted pretend marshmellows, we painted with pine cones & acorn caps & sculpted clay that we dug from the stream bed! Great week at Forest school!
