Springboro residents: PLEASE place LEAVES ONLY at the curb for leaf collection service. Landscaping rocks damage our equipment and cause delays. Please DO NOT tarp your leaves and make sure your leaf pile is leaves only, no other debris. Thank you!

Leaf collection is underway! Enjoy this great weather and rake those leaves to the curb! Please please follow these guidelines:
• Rake your leaves to the curb or tree lawn, not into the street where they will block traffic.
• Place your leaves at the curb at least two days before crews are scheduled to arrive. Depending on Mother Nature, equipment problems and volume of leaves, crews may run up to two days early or two days late.
• Do not rake anything except leaves to the curb for collection. Branches, sticks and other waste clog the machinery and can potentially damage the leaf vacuum.
• Do not bag your leaves for collection. Leaves must be at the curb for ease of pick up by leaf vacuums. Bagged leaves will be left for Rumpke to pick up as part of their yard waste collection.
• Do not park vehicles within 20 feet of leaf piles. Leaves must be accessible to the trucks and the leaf vacuum. If leaves are not accessible, they will be bypassed – we do not want to risk damaging the leaf vacuum or your vehicles.
• Do not cover your leaves with a tarp or any other covering.
Leaf collection schedule updates are available at cityofspringboro.gov or call 937-748-0020 for more information.

Look for ghosts and goblins to come knocking at your door 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. While this is not a City-sponsored event, families are encouraged to decide for themselves if they want to participate. To keep everyone safe, the Springboro Ohio Police Department reminds trick-or-treaters and their families of these tips:
DO: Carry a flashlight
Go in groups with at least one adult
Visit only the homes with lights on
Use common sense. If something feels wrong, trust your instincts.
Dress for the weather; October can be cool, windy, and rainy!
Look for Springboro Police cruisers driving slowly through neighborhoods. Our officers have treats for you!

DON'T:
Wear masks or costumes that block vision or movement
Enter a home of someone you do not know
Eat any treats until an adult has checked them over

Most area communities have agreed to celebrate Trick-or-Treat on October 31 for the next several years. Have a safe and spooky night!

Help shape the future of transportation in north Warren County. Provide feedback at the OPEN HOUSE, 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Warren County Career Center. Warren County, the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments are developing the North Warren County Transportation Plan to provide a clear picture of today’s transportation conditions across the northern portion of Warren County and help inform future solutions that make travel safer, easier and more reliable for
the entire community. The first step is learning more about:
• How people currently travel through the area
• How safe the roadways are
• How the transportation system supports our community
The study will also consider:
• Traffic patterns
• Public transit options
• Land use changes

Attend the public meeting or provide feedback online on potential improvements to the transportation system in northern Warren County.

Stroke Awareness was the focus for this month's Wellness Speaker Series, a partnership between the City and Premier Health. Lizzy Gilbert, MSN, APRN, Neuroscience & Stroke Program Coordinator at Atrium Medical Center, shared important information about recognizing stroke warning signs, reducing your risk and why calling 911immediately can make a difference. In addition, materials from Brain Health Collective were available.

The Wellness Speaker Series is presented the third Tuesday of each month at the Springboro Performing Arts Center, 115 Wright Station Way. Each session explores a different health and wellness topic, including issues affecting older adults. All presentations are free and open to the public. Call 937-748-5774 with questions.

If it plugs in, stores data or runs on batteries, we took it off your hands Saturday at our annual Electronics Recycling Day. More than 370 vehicles rolled through North Park dropping off hundreds of TVs, computers, printers, batteries and more. Huge thanks to Cohen Recycling, our Public Service crew and Springboro Ohio Police Department officers for keeping the lines moving quickly and efficiently. See you on May 15 for our annual paper and document shredding event.
