🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Month…it’s a wrap!🔥🚒

What better way to celebrate Halloween than hosting an Open House? 🎃

Mother Nature cooperated, the grills were fired up with hot dogs and hamburgers, and our volunteers were busy showing off some of their favorite toys!

We climbed the aerial ladder (because apparently stairs are too boring), demonstrated vehicle extrication (because sometimes taking the doors off is easier than opening them), and enjoyed a fantastic Saturday with our community!

Great weather, great food, great people, and thankfully, the only thing we intentionally set on fire was the grill! 🔥🍔🌭

🎃🚒 THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING HALLOWEEN OPEN HOUSE! 🚒🎃

What a fantastic day at Stafford Volunteer Fire Department’s Company 2!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and spent part of their Halloween with us! It was great seeing so many families, smiling faces, and some incredibly creative costumes throughout the day!

From exploring the fire trucks and ambulances to enjoying the activities, demonstrations, and fire safety education, there was plenty of excitement around the firehouse. And judging by all the smiles, everyone was having a great time — including our volunteers! 🚒🍬

Events like this remind us why we do what we do. It’s about more than responding to emergencies. It’s about building relationships, connecting with our neighbors, and creating lasting memories with the community we’re proud to serve.

👏 A special shoutout to our dedicated volunteers who helped plan, organize, set up, and make today’s event possible. Your hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to our community were on full display! Thank you to Stafford County Fire and Rescue for your support with hands only CPR, and to our SVFD Auxiliary there supporting and passing out candy

❤️ To our Stafford community, thank you for your continued support, your enthusiasm, and for making this year’s Halloween Open House such a success!

We hope you had as much fun as we did, and we can’t wait to welcome you back next year!

🚒 Your Neighbors. Your Community. Always Here.

Stand by, as we will be creating a photo album for all the great pictures we took and received.

Tonight marks the end of daylight saving time, which means it is time to turn our clocks back an hour.

When doing so, this is also a great time to double check your smoke alarms:
-Press the "test" button your smoke alarm to ensure that it sounds.
-If your smoke alarm has a replaceable battery, go ahead and change that out before it starts chirping.
-If you have 10-year, sealed smoke alarms, do not replace the battery as this deactivates the alarm. BUT, do test to make sure the alarm is working
-Double-check the date of manufacture on your smoke alarms. If they were manufactured before 2016, they are in need of replacement.

This is also a great time to talk to your household about your home fire escape plan. Be sure to go over a meeting place, and discuss 2 ways out of each room.

🚑 Three Days. Three Events. One Mission. 🚑

October 23–25 was a busy weekend for Stafford Volunteer Fire Department members as our volunteers provided EMS coverage for three events, demonstrating our commitment to community service, emergency readiness, and regional partnerships.

🏈 FRIDAY | Colonial Forge High School Football

Our volunteers provided EMS standby coverage for Colonial Forge High School’s varsity football game against Mountain View, supporting student-athletes, families, and a great Stafford County tradition.

🎃 SATURDAY | Halloween 5K & Monster Mile

Saturday morning, our members supported the 11th Annual Halloween 5K and Monster Mile at Embrey Mill, benefiting the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Project Lifesaver program.

Beyond providing EMS coverage, our volunteers enjoyed connecting with runners, children, and families during this community event.

🦅🌎⚓ SUNDAY | 51st Marine Corps Marathon

By 2:00 a.m. Sunday, our volunteers were headed north to support the Marine Corps Marathon in Arlington and Washington, D.C.

With approximately 35,000 registered runners and 100,000 anticipated spectators, this major event required extensive coordination across local, regional, state, and federal agencies.

Our ambulance was assigned to Basic Life Support Strike Team 2 within the Transportation Group, working alongside regional EMS partners as part of a much larger emergency medical operation.

Special thanks to Arlington County Fire Department, the National Capital Region Incident Management Team, our fellow strike-team members, participating law enforcement agencies, the United States Marine Corps, and all regional public safety partners.

This operation provided an invaluable opportunity to strengthen partnerships, share experiences, and learn from the teams coordinating such a large-scale event. We were proud to contribute to their mission.

🤝 ONE WEEKEND. COUNTLESS CONNECTIONS.

From Friday night football and family festivities to supporting one of the nation’s premier marathons, our volunteers continue to demonstrate that service extends far beyond emergency calls.

Thank you to our members, community partners, event organizers, and fellow public safety professionals who made this weekend possible.

Proud to serve. Grateful for our partnerships. Always learning. Always improving.

From decorating with jack-o-lanterns to costume parties and trick-or-treating, many hallmarks of present fire hazards.

Nearly half (47%) of U.S. home fires occurred because decorations were too close to a heat source; approximately one-third (33%) started with candles.

🚒 Building the Future of Volunteer Fire Service! 🚒

Tonight, our volunteer crew staffing Truck 1502 visited the Stafford County Training and Logistics Center to provide a static apparatus display for our future firefighters and their families.

Events like these are about more than showcasing our apparatus. They provide families an opportunity to see firsthand the dedication, determination, and commitment it takes to serve as a volunteer firefighter.

Whether it’s their son, daughter, mom, or dad answering the call, every volunteer has a family standing behind them. That support is an important part of what makes volunteer fire service possible.

At Stafford Volunteer Fire Department, we take great pride in our members, the families who support them, and the next generation preparing to serve our community.

To our future volunteers and their families, welcome to the fire service family! We look forward to seeing the pride and commitment you’ll bring to the department. ❤️🚒

🚒🎃 A Busy Night for Stafford Volunteers! 🔥

Last night, our volunteer duty crew had a busy evening supporting two great community events across Stafford County!

🚒 Truck 1502 headed to Anthony Burns Elementary School for their Trunk or Treat event! Our members enjoyed handing out candy, showing off the truck, and taking pictures with all the excited kids and families.

🔥 Meanwhile, Brush 1502 was stationed at Colonial Forge High School, providing fire safety coverage for their annual bonfire and helping ensure a safe evening for everyone in attendance.

From Halloween festivities to Friday night traditions, our volunteers are always proud to be out in the community!

Thank you to both schools for including us in your events! We love every opportunity to connect with the community we proudly serve.
