Connecting with Our History: A Special Visitor in Stanfield! 🚂

We had the honor of welcoming a very special guest to the Town of Stanfield! Wayne Stanfield traveled all the way from Franklin, Kentucky, to visit the community named after his great-grandfather, William J. "J.W." Stanfield.

As many of our residents know, J.W. Stanfield was the lead civil engineer behind the Norfolk-Southern Railroad expansion in the early 1900s, connecting Raleigh and Charlotte. His leadership and engineering work helped lay the foundation for the vibrant town we know and love today.

During his visit, Wayne shared wonderful family photographs and historical information about his great-grandfather’s legacy. In return, town officials gave Wayne a tour of Stanfield, highlighting how our community has grown around the tracks and roots his family helped establish over a century ago.

Thank you, Wayne, for making the trip to visit us and sharing a piece of our town’s history! Join us in giving him a warm Stanfield welcome in the comments below!
